Shark Tank Krapp Strapp Update from Season 15

In the Shark Tank, Keith and Bob began their presentation by introducing themselves. There, Bob proposed an investment of $65,000 in exchange for a 10% equity, valuing the company at $650K. Their company is focused on creating innovative and essential solutions to problems faced by older people. They’re offering a top-notch, user-friendly solution for outdoor waste disposal.

Bob and Keith attached the Krapp Strapp to a tree, which amused the sharks during the demonstration. To use it; you must attach it to your waist and then secure it to a sturdy tree or structure. After that, they explained that you lean back and can do your business. It also features two pockets to keep toilet paper or other essential items. The sharks laughed when Bob jokingly suggested using a hand to finish the task.

Mark Cuban tried out the Krapp Strapp and said it quite comfortable. Lori Greiner wanted to learn more about Bob. Bob shared that he was 81 years old and that this wasn’t his first invention. He had previously created Motion Decoys, a hunting product, and later sold the company. Afterward, he partnered with his old friend Keith to start Airboss Outdoors.

Next, Kevin asked about their sales. Keith explained that they launched the product last October (2023) and sold 4,000 units without spending anything on marketing. They made all sales through their e-commerce website.

Then, Lori and Kevin both asked about the price at the same time, and Keith responded that each unit costs $49.95. They achieved this in just four months. When Robert asked about the manufacturing cost, Keith said it was $17 per unit.

Lori asked how people discovered the product without any marketing. Bob explained that he made one social media post, which went viral and was seen by 1.2 million people.

Next, Daymond John asked why they needed the money. Keith explained that they needed help to grow the business further, especially in marketing. They believe that with a shark’s help and resources, they can give their product the attention it deserves.

Robert Herjavec appreciated that Keith and Bob were creating valuable products. However, the Krapp Strapp was something other than what he would use, so he decided to pass on the opportunity. Then, Kevin shared that he understands the need for the product, recalling his own experience of having to go outdoors as a boy at camp. However, because of that experience, he now only stays in places that offer luxury, so he also decided not to invest in the business.

Despite two sharks dropping out, Daymond, who enjoys outdoor activities, remained interested. He invited Lori to join him in a deal because she has experience with similar products, like her previous investment, The Squatty Potty. When Lori agreed to partner with Daymond, Mark decided to drop out. He said he would have been happy to work with Bob and Keith, but he believed Daymond best fits the outdoors-related product.

Lori and Daymond then offered $65,000 for 35% equity, wanting to be more equal partners with Bob and Keith. But Bob proposed 25% equity, but Lori adjusted her offer to 33.3%, valuing the company at $195K. Finally, Keith and Bob accepted the deal and left with Lori and Daymond as their new partners.
